A Walk to Tod Inlet

I've been saving up some colour films for home development, and earlier in the week processed six of them. These images are from a walk I took in a local park, through an abandoned cement facility that has been reclaimed by the rain forest, eventually ending up at the sea. It was a cool, foggy day and I had a Lubitel 2 with me for the journey. Here are some of the images (clicking on an image will show it in a larger size):

I was walking out to the back porch of the studio building when I noticed the shadows falling from some of the garden furniture. Here are a couple of quick studies:

I was at one of my favourite haunts this afternoon, searching for images amongst the rocks and driftwood. My attention was drawn by some scavenging activity from the gulls and ravens along the low tide line. They were picking the bones of the dismembered carcass of a sea mammal. The glistening, gristly bones were displayed on a background of dark, wet rock like museum exhibits. The process of taking photos of these bones seemed like a forensic documentation of a violent crime.

I shot this series of images while on a walk at a local park. The site used to be a cement works a long time ago, but the forest has mostly reclaimed the site. It's somewhat intriguing to come across these last remnants of the old works, and as the moss and taggers go about their business of remediating the site a slight sense of unease creeps in. As I started taking images, I began to imagine the site as being the devil's playground, and looked for elements that fit that theme.
